On Friday, September 27th, at 7:00 p.m., the Sixth Diversport Torremolinos Assembly began at the Pablo Ruiz Picasso Cultural Center in the municipality. The event was magnificently presented by our partner Vlad. Many members of the club gathered in the Assembly Hall. The event began with a stellar performance by Nina McQueen and two dancers who delighted the audience. During the event, which lasted just under two hours, a review of the club’s past eleven months since the new board of directors was installed was provided. First, Carlos, the secretary, and Dani, the treasurer, presented the club’s annual accounts and administrative processes. Afterwards, a tribute was paid to a much-loved member who recently passed away, Rob Michael, by listening to one of the songs he himself composed as a DJ. Later, Sara, the president, and Óscar, the sports section coordinating member, reviewed the year’s achievements. Next, Samuel, the member in charge of new recruits, and Rafa, head of the beach volleyball section and graphic designer of the club’s logo, spoke to us about the club’s corporate image. Later, Rosa, the vice president, discussed the lessons learned and challenges of Pride 2024/2025 and the club’s request for recognition as an LGBTI-phobia-free space. After this, Jack, the member, presented the new website in a fun and entertaining way through a quiz, giving away embroidered Diversport Torremolinos caps to whoever answered correctly.
Next, Sara, the president, and Rosa, the vice president, discussed the proposals and projects for the coming year.
Finally, a round of questions and requests was offered to those in attendance.
To top off the gala, there was a performance of sevillanas by some of the people who spent four months learning to dance in classes offered by the Juan Navarro Cultural Folklore Association in collaboration with our club.
