The Regional Government of Andalusia has awarded Diversport Torremolinos the “LGBTIphobia-Free Space” designation as an entity that promotes the rights of equality and non-discrimination of LGBTI people.
It is also recognized for adopting organizational and/or technical measures to ensure that our cultural, recreational, leisure, and free-time activities are enjoyed under conditions of equality and respect for all people, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender expression, or identity, and to prevent any acts of prejudice, harassment, and physical or psychological violence against the users of these activities.
The “LGBTIphobia-Free Space” recognition, in the field of diversity, aims to highlight those environments in Andalusia that represent spaces of peace for LGBTI people, where they live with full equality, respect, safety, and freedom from any sign of LGBTIphobia. All of this, while being mindful of the need to continue advancing actions that contribute to promoting equality for all people, regardless of their sexual orientation and gender identity, throughout Andalusia.
Furthermore, this recognition is intended to have a multiplier effect on public awareness and sensitivity to prevent and detect any type of violent act against LGBTI people and their families, promoting the practice of values based on respect for sexual diversity.
